Position Overview
The Executive Head of Sales is a senior executive position responsible for leading and scaling the entire Nymbis Cloud Solutions sales function across South Africa and beyond. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this individual will set the strategic commercial direction for the business, oversee the Sales Manager and their team of New Business, Account Management, and Channel Management professionals, and be fully accountable for driving sustainable revenue growth across all service lines.
This role requires a commercially astute executive who can operate at both a strategic and operational level — shaping go-to-market strategy across all possible sales channels, building high-performing teams, and cultivating executive-level client relationships that align with the Nymbis brand promise. A key dimension of this role is cross-functional collaboration with the Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Projects teams to ensure complete solution alignment from positioning through to delivery

Team Structure
The Executive Head of Sales will lead the sales organisation with the below initial structure:
- Executive Head of Sales - Strategic sales leadership, revenue accountability, executive client relationships, cross-functional alignment
- Sales Manager - Day-to-day management of the sales team, pipeline oversight and team coaching
- New Business Sales Specialists - Prospecting, lead qualification, new client acquisition
- Key Account Managers - Client retention, upselling, cross-selling, ongoing relationship management
- Channel Managers - Partner development, channel strategy, indirect revenue growth
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Define and own the overarching sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets across all Nymbis service lines — Cloud Computing, AI Solutions, Data Protection, Colocation, and Professional Services
- Along with the Managing Director set annual and monthly sales targets and ensure alignment across new business acquisition, account management, and channel sales functions
- Identify and pursue new market segments, verticals, and enterprise opportunities within the South African and broader African cloud market
- Build and oversee a robust, data-driven sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and regular reporting to the Managing Director
- Drive both organic growth through existing client accounts and net-new revenue acquisition
- Define pricing strategies and deal approval frameworks to protect margins while remaining competitive
- Directly manage and mentor the Sales Manager/s, providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance accountability
- Through the Sales Manager/s, oversee the performance and development of the New Business, Account Management, and Channel Management teams
- Set clear KPIs, performance metrics, and incentive structures across the entire sales organisation
- Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement
- Drive the recruitment of top sales talent to support the company's growth objectives
- Conduct regular strategic reviews with the Sales Manager/s to assess pipeline health, team performance, and market opportunities
- Implement training and professional development programs to upskill the sales team on cloud solutions, consultative selling, and industry trends
- Own and cultivate strategic relationships with key enterprise clients, C-suite decision-makers, and high-value prospects
- Act as the senior executive point of escalation for complex sales negotiations, large deal structuring, and strategic account planning
- Champion a consultative selling methodology across the organisation that positions Nymbis as a trusted cloud advisor
- Ensure the Nymbis values of transparency, authenticity, and customer success are embedded in every client interaction
- Drive client retention and net revenue retention through proactive executive engagement and strategic account reviews
- Represent Nymbis Cloud Solutions in executive-level client presentations, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and contract renewals
- Define and execute the channel sales strategy through the Channel Management function
- Identify, recruit, and develop strategic channel partners, resellers, and technology alliances to extend Nymbis market reach
- Establish partner enablement programs, deal registration processes, and co-selling frameworks
- Monitor channel performance metrics and ensure partner relationships deliver measurable revenue contribution
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager/s and Channel Managers to align direct and indirect sales motions

Product Team
- Partner with the Product team to ensure the sales strategy is fully aligned with the product roadmap and service portfolio
- Channel client requirements, competitive intelligence, and market feedback into product development priorities
- Collaborate on product positioning, packaging, and pricing to maximise market competitiveness
- Ensure new product and service launches are supported with effective sales enablement materials and training
- Work closely with Marketing to develop and execute demand generation campaigns, lead nurturing programs, and go-to-market strategies
- Align on target market segments, ideal customer profiles, and messaging that resonates with enterprise and mid-market buyers
- Collaborate on thought leadership content, case studies, event strategies, and brand positioning in the cloud services market
- Ensure a seamless lead handover process between marketing-generated leads and the sales team, with clear SLAs and feedback mechanisms
- Provide market intelligence and sales insights to inform marketing strategy and campaign optimisation.
- Communication with Projects post-sale to monitor client satisfaction and identify expansion opportunities
- Collaborate with Finance on pricing strategies, deal structuring, revenue forecasting, commission strategy and margin management
- Contribute to the overall strategic direction of Nymbis Cloud Solutions as a key member of the executive leadership team
- Participate in executive planning sessions, board reporting, and strategic decision-making alongside the Managing Director
- Represent Nymbis Cloud Solutions as a senior executive at industry events, conferences, panels, and networking forums
- Stay abreast of South African and global cloud market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies
- Ensure all sales collateral, proposals, and client-facing materials adhere to Nymbis brand guidelines
- Provide strategic market intelligence to the Managing Director to inform product roadmap and business development decisions
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, IT, or a related field
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive B2B sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or executive sales leadership role
- Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding revenue targets within the IT industry
- Experience managing sales leaders (not only individual contributors) — specifically overseeing managers who run new business, account management, and channel teams
- Deep understanding of the South African IT services market, with enterprise and mid-market experience
- Demonstrated ability to build, structure, and scale high-performing sales organisations
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in deal structuring, pricing strategy, and contract negotiation at executive level
- Proven experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and project delivery teams to ensure solution alignment and client success
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification
- Experience working with Veeam, VMware, or similar cloud and virtualisation technologies
- Existing network of enterprise and mid-market IT decision-makers and CxOs in South Africa
- Experience building and scaling channel and partner sales programs
- Understanding of data sovereignty, compliance, and regulatory requirements in South Africa (POPIA)
